Chicken Fry Masala

Let’s be honest no one can say no to chicken fry masala. You can serve the mouthwatering Chicken Masala Fry as a snack, an appetizer, or the main course. This recipe calls for very less ingredients. You can adjust the spices as per your taste.

  • Chicken (with bones) 1/2 kg
  • Onion Chopped 1 Cup
  • Garlic Chopped 1 Tbsp
  • Ginger Chopped 1 Tbsp
  • Yogurt 1/2 Cup
  • Star Anise Powder 1/4 Tsp
  • Salt 1 Tsp
  • Chili Powder 1 Tsp
  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 Tsp
  • Coriander Seeds Crushed 1(1/2) Tsp
  • Cloves 4
  • Black Pepper 6
  • Cinnamon 1 Inch Stick
  • Black Cardamom 1
  • Cumin Seeds 1/2 Tsp
  • Tomatoes Chopped 3
  • Oil 1/2 Cup
  • Green Chilies 6
  • Coriander Leaves for Garnish
  • Ginger Julienne 1 Tbsp

Method – Chicken Fry Masala

  1. Heat Oil and Fry Onion till Light Golden
  2. Add Whole Spices and Fry for a Minute
  3. Add chopped Ginger, Garlic and Fry for 2 minutes
  4. Add Chicken, fry well and add 1/2 Cup of Water
  5. Cover and cook until chicken is half done
  6. Add Tomatoes and Yogurt with all the dry spices
  7. Fry it well, Cover and Cook until chicken is Tender and the Oil comes on Top
  8. Lastly add Green Chilies, Coriander Leaves and Ginger Julienne for Garnishing
  9. Serve with Naan
