Twitter to relaunch its subscription service from Today

Twitter revealed on Saturday that its subscription service, which includes a process for platform account authentication, will be reactivated from today (Monday) after numerous failed efforts.

“We’re relaunching TwitterBlue on Monday — subscribe on web for $8/month or on (Apple’s) iOS for $11/month to get access to subscriber-only features, including the blue checkmark,” The statement read.

Twitter now only permits organisations and public figures to use the blue checkmark that denotes their accounts have been verified in an effort to avoid impersonation and incorrect information.

After buying the company in October, Elon Musk disclosed his intention to expand Twitter’s income model beyond advertising. He would accomplish this by adding extra payment options for premium services.

The initial version was released ten days after Musk took over at the beginning of November, but there was a stir when several phoney accounts that purported to represent companies or famous people started to appear.

The version came to an abrupt end.

According to the new agreement, Twitter will once more evaluate accounts that desire blue checkmarks. The checkmark will switch from grey for organisations that are part of the government to gold for businesses later this week.

Additionally, services like the capacity to download better-quality films and edit tweets following their publication will be available to members.

“Thanks for your patience as we’ve worked to make Blue better,” said the company’s tweet.

Musk first promised that Twitter Blue will return by the end of November, but he later disclosed that the project had been temporarily shelved as experts worked to develop a strategy to combat imitation.
