T20 World Cup 2024:Babar stress on playing easy cricket


Skipper Babar Azam has emphasized the importance of Pakistan adhering to fundamental cricket principles and maintaining a relaxed approach as they gear up for the highly anticipated encounter against India in the T20 World Cup.

Pakistan’s initial match is scheduled for June 6 against the United States, who secured a victory over Canada in the tournament’s opening fixture.

The Pakistan-India showdown is slated for June 9 at the Eisenhower Park stadium in Nassau County, New York, where security measures will be heightened following reports of potential threats surrounding the match. In a podcast recently released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Babar discussed the forthcoming India match, stating, “The entire world is eagerly anticipating the India-Pakistan match.”

He acknowledged the natural nerves associated with such a fixture but underscored the importance of maintaining focus, sticking to basics, and playing uncomplicated cricket. “It’s always a high-pressure game,” he remarked, “but maintaining composure, confidence in our abilities, and trust in our hard work can simplify things.”
