iPhone 15 expected to launch without any buttons

When the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max were first introduced in October of last year, respected analyst and source of Apple-related rumors Ming-Chi Kuo projected that they might not have any physical, clickable, conventional buttons.

And Kuo is back to it once more, essentially restating the same information. According to his most current study of Apple’s supply chain partners, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are still scheduled to launch in the second half of this year without clickable buttons.

Instead, both phones will have solid-state buttons that will be aided by additional taptic engines to replicate the sensation of pressing physical buttons.

Cirrus Logic is the company that stands to benefit the most from Apple’s choice as it is the sole supplier of the controller IC for the solid-state buttons used in the Taptic Engine.

According to Kuo, if consumers approve of Apple’s phoney buttons, other companies may follow suit and incorporate haptic buttons into their phones.
