The Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) Lifestyle Monitoring Cell has uncovered over 20 cases involving individuals leading lavish lifestyles, owning expensive vehicles, and traveling abroad frequently, yet declaring minimal assets in their tax returns.
The cell, operating under the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation (Inland Revenue), was established to monitor individuals showcasing luxury lifestyles on social media while contributing little to the national exchequer.

In one case, a southern Punjab resident owned 19 high-end vehicles worth Rs624 million but declared only one car in tax records. Another case involved a political family member from the same region who concealed assets worth Rs180.5 million, including luxury vehicles such as a Lexus LX 570, Toyota Fortuner Legender, BMW i7, and Suzuki Hayabusa.
Investigators also identified a travel vlogger who took frequent international trips to countries like the UAE, Spain, Turkey, and the UK between 2020 and 2025. Despite his lavish lifestyle, he declared an annual income of less than Rs900,000.
FBR officials confirmed that intelligence reports have been forwarded to regional tax offices for legal proceedings. The department has vowed strict action against tax evasion and urged citizens to declare their true assets honestly to support national revenue.
