PAF Ranked Among World’s Top 10 Air Forces

A recent report by GlobalFirepower.com has ranked the world’s most powerful air forces based on their aircraft fleets, which include fighter jets, helicopters, and support planes.

The United States claimed the top spot, with Russia and China following in second and third places, respectively. India, South Korea, and Japan secured the fourth, fifth, and sixth positions, while Pakistan landed in seventh.

The U.S. Air Force stands unmatched, boasting a fleet larger than the combined air capabilities of Russia, China, India, South Korea, and Japan. With 5,737 helicopters, 1,854 fighter jets, and 3,722 support aircraft, the U.S. maintains a massive $800 billion annual defense budget, making up nearly 40% of global military spending.

Russia, possessing one-third of the U.S.’s air power, operates 1,554 helicopters, 809 fighter jets, and 610 support aircraft. However, its fleet has suffered significant losses, with 220 aircraft destroyed since the Ukraine war began in 2022.

China, in third place, has been heavily investing in modernizing its air force, including the addition of a sixth-generation fighter jet and development of supersonic aircraft.

India, South Korea, and Japan follow with 2,296, 1,576, and 1,459 aircraft, respectively. Pakistan, with 1,434 aircraft, ranks seventh, while Egypt, Turkey, and France complete the top ten with 1,080, 1,069, and 972 aircraft, respectively.

The report underscores the shifting dynamics of global air power, with China rapidly advancing its technology and Russia grappling with fleet losses due to ongoing conflicts.
