These Pakistani Airports are Getting E-Gates

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has announced plans to install e-gates at various airports to speed up immigration processing for passengers.

According to a statement from the PCAA, these e-gates will allow for quick and efficient clearance, similar to international standards.

Initially, the e-gates will be set up at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, and Islamabad International Airport.

Passengers will be able to scan their passports at the e-gates, which are designed to reduce wait times and improve the overall travel experience.

The PCAA has invited bids from technology companies to install the e-gates, with a deadline for submissions set for August 13.

Furthermore, a team from the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reviewed the security arrangements at Karachi and Islamabad airports and expressed satisfaction with the measures in place.

The UAE-GCAA team, led by Senior Director Abdullah Al Kaabi, inspected various aspects of aviation security, including passenger and baggage screening, cargo security, and catering services.

They also evaluated the security practices of airlines operating flights to the UAE, ground handling agents, and regulated cargo agents.
