Passengers in the newly covered districts will be able to travel on air conditioned electric buses for a Rs. 20 fare. The chief minister said the government plans to operate 1,100 electric buses across Punjab by the end of the current year.

The fleet will increase to 1,500 buses next year, with a long term target of 5,000 electric buses operating throughout the province over the next three years.
Maryam Nawaz said the Green Bus Service is gradually expanding beyond major cities to tehsils, ensuring that modern public transport reaches people across Punjab without discrimination.

She added that women, students, and workers are among the largest users of the service, and the government will continue increasing the number of buses to improve accessibility and provide safe, affordable, and comfortable travel across the province.
