Faisal Movers Banned From Motorways After Deadly Crash

The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP), Motorway North Zone, has banned Faisal Movers’ operations for 30 days following a deadly accident on December 30, 2024.

The crash claimed 11 lives and left 14 injured when a bus overturned on its way from Bahawalpur to Islamabad due to driver fatigue.

The decision, announced by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, highlighted several violations committed by the company and its driver:

  • Unauthorized Route: The bus was operating on the CPEC M-14 Motorway without a valid permit. It was only authorized to travel between Kot Mithan (Rajanpur) and Rawalpindi.
  • Tracker Inaccessibility: NHMP was unable to monitor the bus due to lack of access to its tracker.
  • Overspeeding: The bus was traveling at 112 km/h, breaching speed limits.
  • Driver Exhaustion: Only one driver was on duty, operating the vehicle continuously for over five hours, violating safety rules.
  • Negligence: Claims of a tire burst causing the accident were ruled out, with evidence pointing to operational failures.
