UK High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, has announced plans to streamline the visa process for Pakistanis traveling to Britain as part of the UK’s shift towards a digital immigration system.
The British High Commission in Islamabad has announced that the UK is expanding its e-Visa services to include new biometric users, enabling applicants to manage their immigration status online.
While a UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) online account will be necessary to use the e-Visa system, tourists will not be required to create an account. “The UK immigration system is moving to a digital platform,” the statement said, emphasizing that physical documents will be replaced by an online immigration status.
She noted that the process is free, secure, and simple, providing a more efficient method for travelers to manage their immigration status.

High Commissioner Jane Marriott CMB OBE stated, “We are constantly innovating to make it easier for Pakistanis to travel to the UK.”
Travelers should not go to the UK until they receive their passport and valid UK visa from the Visa Application Centre (VAC). Transitioning to an eVisa does not affect immigration status or entry conditions.
Travelers must collect a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) upon arrival in the UK. BRP cards are valid until December 31, 2024. The BRP is used to access the eVisa and should be carried with the passport when traveling abroad.
