Sindh residents will soon be able to get gold number plates

Sindh Cabinet recently gave the green light to the introduction of exclusive gold, silver, and platinum number plates for vehicles. Minister for Excise and Taxation, Sharjeel Memon, proposed this initiative to the Cabinet, aiming to offer premium options for vehicle owners.

The current offerings from the Excise and Taxation Department include commercial, non-commercial, and motorcycle number plates. However, the new premium plates come with a range of distinctive features. These include personalized ownership that can be passed down, the ability to transfer plates to another vehicle, registration based on the owner’s CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) for any private vehicle, usability across multiple vehicles, customizable colour options for platinum plates (excluding specified colours), and the option to transfer plates to another CNIC for a specified fee.
