A person claiming to be a PML-N member said that he had discussed assassination plans for deceased journalist Arshad Sharif and PTI Chairman Imran Khan with former prime minister and party supremo Nawaz Sharif.
The alleged member of the ruling party said that he had served as a spokesperson for the organisation in London for the previous five years while speaking to the Pakistani media there.
He asserted that he had attended the meetings with the PML-N leadership in London when it was discussed possible assassination plans for Arshad Sharif and Imran Khan in order to delay the choice of the next army chief.
“I held meetings with Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. The first meeting took place on July 8 and then on September 20. Another meeting took place on October 29,” he said.
“Nasir Butt introduced me to Nawaz Sharif, saying that he [Tasneem Haider Shah] is an influential person of Gujrat and they have shooters and are capable of executing [assassination plots]”, he added.
Further, he claimed that former prime minister Nawaz had urged him to send gunmen to target Imran in Wazirabad, where the latter had survived an attempted murder on November 3. He asserted that he had attended the meetings with the PML-N leadership in London when it was discussed possible assassination plans for Arshad Sharif and Imran Khan in order to delay the choice of the next army chief.
Tasneem Haider was disavowed by PML-N leader and information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, who claimed Tasneem Haider is not the spokesperson for the PML-N London chapter.
“Tasneem Haider has no relation with the PML-N. If he has evidence then present it before the JIT [joint investigation team]. No one should try to become party spokesperson by force,” she added in the statement.
She further alleged that hat one of the persons in the media talks is the organiser of the PTI London chapter.
