In the southern state of Kerala, a 22-year-old man died of monkeypox, according to India. According to Reuters, this is the first case of the disease-related death in Asia and India. This is the fourth known death worldwide from the illness.
According to K Rajan, the minister of revenue for Kerala, the government has isolated 21 individuals who had contact with the minor. He added that the deceased showed signs of fatigue and fever.
The man’s family informed the authorities that he had tested positive for monkeypox in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) before coming back to India, according to the state’s Health Minister Veena George.
A task force was established, according to the federal health ministry of India, to keep track of monkeypox cases across the nation.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the monkeypox outbreak a global health emergency last month. In Pakistan, there have been no reports of monkeypox cases. However, over 18,000 cases of monkeypox had been reported from 78 different countries.
