According to reports, Sri Lanka would speak with the UAE Cricket Board and ask them to give a location for the event. According to ESPNcricinfo, the Asia Cup will continue to be played in Dubai and Sharjah between August 27 and September 11. Sri Lanka Cricket will still serve as the tournament’s official host.
The Asia Cup T20I competition is slated to take place in 2022. At the Asia Cup 2022, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and one additional team from the qualifications will face off in T20 matches. In order to secure a position as the tournament’s sixth team, the UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, and Hong Kong will face off against one another in the qualifying rounds.
14 Asia Cups have been held since 1984. India was the seven-time champion of the Asia Cup. With five cups under their belt, Sri Lanka is second only to India, while Pakistan has taken home the trophy twice.
