When PSL Season 8 will happen?

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalised the schedule for the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (i.e. PSL Season 8). According to media reports, the event will be held between February 15 and March 31. However, PCB has not confirmed the news.

One of the franchise owner said while talking to a local news media outlet: “There was no discussion between franchises and PSL management regarding the schedule but despite that it was finalised.”

The PCB has also determined that the 2023 tournament will be held in Pakistan. Notably with Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi as the host cities.

However, there are media reports that Peshwar will also host PSL Season 8 matches. Mohammad Akram, Director of Cricketing Affairs, disclosed that the Zalmi franchise has already requested to host PSL 8 matches.

“Peshawar Zalmi has requested the PCB to host PSL matches in Peshawar and also asked authorities to complete the construction and renovation of Arbab Niaz Stadium as soon as possible,” he said.

The owner of the Peshawar Zalmi team, Javed Afridi, updated his social media account on the stadium’s progress.

In January 2023, New Zealand will tour Pakistan for two Tests and an ODI series, followed by a T20I series between the West Indies and Pakistan.

The PSL Season 8 will begin immediately following the West Indies series. Due to the movement of teams in four cities, the tournament’s duration has been extended to accommodate the schedule and allow appropriate recuperation for the players.
