In a bid to improve passenger convenience and modernise its services, Pakistan Railways has announced the launch of dining cars, kitchen facilities, and complimentary services across several trains, as reported by 24NewsHD TV.
According to the details, long-distance trains including Pakistan Express, Karachi Express, and Millat Express will soon be equipped with fully functional dining cars, providing onboard meals and refreshments. Meanwhile, Jaffar Express will feature a dedicated kitchen portion to cater to passenger needs during the journey.

In addition to these upgrades, railcars running between Lahore and Rawalpindi — namely Subak Raftar, Subak Kharam, Islamabad Express, and Rawal Express — will begin offering complimentary services to passengers, enhancing short-haul travel comfort.
To facilitate these improvements, Pakistan Railways has issued a tender to outsource catering services. Interested companies have been invited to submit their technical and financial proposals by August 5, 2025.
The introduction of dining cars and kitchen portions aims to provide a more comfortable, convenient, and modern train travel experience. The railway department hopes these enhancements will boost public confidence and attract more passengers to the service.
