The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide weather alert warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and potential flooding between July 6 and July 10, 2025. The alert urges citizens and authorities to remain cautious, particularly in areas known for landslides, flash floods, and urban flooding.
According to the NDMA, strong winds and heavy rains are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Faisalabad. Lahore, Kasur, and Okara are also likely to receive intense rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.

In South Punjab, cities including Multan, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, and Dera Ghazi Khan may experience heavy showers with gusty winds. Northern districts such as Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Mardan, and Mansehra are expected to face rain and possible landslides.
The alert extends to Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, with high chances of flooding in Gilgit, Skardu, Hunza, Astore, and Neelum Valley. Urban flooding is anticipated in parts of Sindh, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana, while Balochistan’s Quetta, Khuzdar, and Zhob may also face severe weather.
The NDMA has urged local authorities to remain on high alert, prepare emergency response teams, and ensure early warnings are issued to vulnerable communities to minimize damage and loss of life.
