Here’s When Karachi Will Receive Its First Monsoon Rain

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that Karachi will get its first monsoon rain starting on July 8. On Saturday, the city faced a heatwave with a temperature of 38.4 degrees Celsius. The sea breeze is expected to fully resume by Sunday.

Saturday marked the sixth straight day of hot and humid weather in Karachi. The heat was caused by the suspension of sea breezes and hot winds from northeast Balochistan.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz stated that rain is possible in Karachi from July 8 due to the monsoon system. He added that a low-pressure area over the Arabian Sea moved away from the city, reducing the chance of rain on Saturday. However, light drizzle might still occur in some areas.

The Early Warning Centre forecasted that southeast and southern winds, followed by southwest sea breezes, are expected to blow from today.

The maximum temperature on Sunday and Monday is expected to be between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius.
