On Tuesday, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, a former chief minister of Punjab, announced his joining the PTI alongside ten other former MPAs of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).
The development came amid rumours that the Elahi group of the PML-Q may join forces with the PTI.
Parvez Elahi said that he and ten other PML-Q members had joined the PTI during a press conference with PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry.
“We will always support PTI chief Imran Khan, and never do anything that harms their new party,” he said.
Moreover, Shujaat informed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) of the development in a letter.
He made the choice as a result of Pervez Elahi’s failure to reply to the show-cause letter that was sent to him on January 16. The membership is officially revoked after being put on hold on January 26.
