The announcement comes as several parts of the province continue to experience intense heat, with authorities warning that temperatures are expected to remain above normal in the coming weeks.
Earlier, the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued an advisory warning of hotter than usual weather and rainfall across the province during May, June, and July.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has also cautioned that heatwaves, flash floods, urban flooding, dust storms, and strong winds could affect multiple regions during the coming months.
Officials have warned that severe weather conditions may also impact seasonal crops, vegetables, and orchards in different districts.
Last year, the Punjab government announced summer vacations from May 28 to August 14. However, holidays for public and private schools were later extended until August 31 due to extreme weather conditions across the province.
