Chery to Launch Locally Assembled Hybrid Vehicles in Pakistan

Chery Master Pakistan has announced that it will begin local assembly operations in January 2026 at its new manufacturing facility located in the National Industrial Park, Port Qasim, Karachi.

The announcement was made during a ceremony at the site, where officials shared that the state-of-the-art facility spans over 60 acres and represents an investment of $150 million. Alongside production, the company is also developing a nationwide dealership network, with 10 outlets planned to open across seven major cities next year.

Chery, China’s top automobile export brand, currently operates in more than 120 countries across Europe, South America, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Russia, and Australia.

In Pakistan, Chery Master plans to assemble four models from its flagship Tiggo lineup — the Tiggo Cross, Tiggo 7, Tiggo 8, and Tiggo 9 — each featuring advanced plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) technology.

Samir Malik, CEO of Master Auto Engineering, said the collaboration with Chery Automobile Ltd. marks a major milestone for Pakistan’s automotive industry. He noted that the initiative aims to introduce cutting-edge hybrid technology while generating employment for over 2,000 workers and developing local expertise in New Energy Vehicle (NEV) technologies.

He added that the investment reinforces Pakistan’s potential as a growing hub for sustainable automotive manufacturing.
