Police Reveals Complete Details About Haider Ali Case

A British-Pakistani woman who accused Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali of rape remained in friendly contact with him for nearly two weeks after their first meeting, sources linked to the police investigation told Geo News.

According to the sources, the woman, in her mid-20s, met Ali for the first time at a Manchester hotel on July 23. She lodged the complaint on August 4. In the meantime, on August 1, she travelled from Manchester to Ashford, Kent — a journey of about four hours each way — to meet Ali again for lunch and a walk.

Two witnesses said they saw the pair laughing and chatting at a local restaurant, later strolling together towards the train station without any visible tension. Sources said she stayed in touch with Ali throughout this period and did not raise any concerns.

Investigators say phone data seized by Manchester Police shows normal communication between the two after both meetings. The woman was reportedly a fan of Ali and had contacted him via social media in 2023.

Ali, 24, was arrested on August 5 and spent nearly 48 hours in custody. He denied the allegations in a written statement. Police released him on bail on August 7 due to insufficient evidence, pending further inquiries.
