The move came during a high-level meeting on amendments to the Motor Vehicle Rules, chaired by Sindh Home and Law Minister Zia Lanjar, according to Dawn News.

Under the new plan:
- A Rs. 200,000 fine will be imposed on government vehicles violating one-way rules
- Private vehicles will face a Rs. 100,000 fine
- Motorcycles will be fined Rs. 25,000
- Driving without a license will also carry strict penalties:
- Rs. 25,000 for motorcycles
- Rs. 50,000 for cars
The meeting also approved new rules to ensure road safety. Commercial and non-commercial vehicles will now require mandatory fitness checks through third parties. A complete ban on four-seater rickshaws has also been approved, while two-seater models will need prior approval to operate.
In addition, all dumpers and water tankers must now have trackers and sensors, while goods transport vehicles will need at least five cameras installed.
To discourage dangerous stunts, first-time offenders involved in one-wheeling or drifting will be fined Rs. 100,000. Repeat offenses will lead to fines of Rs. 200,000 and Rs. 300,000.
Minister Lanjar said these steps were necessary to restore discipline on Karachi’s roads.
