PSL Franchise Announces Donations for Palestine During PSL

In a strong gesture of solidarity, the Multan Sultans have pledged to support humanitarian efforts in Palestine during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season. The team will donate Rs. 100,000 for every six hit and every wicket taken throughout their 2025 campaign.

The announcement was made by team captain Mohammad Rizwan ahead of the match against Karachi Kings. Team owner Ali Tareen also confirmed the decision on social media, highlighting the franchise’s commitment to using cricket as a platform for social impact.

This move reflects a growing shift in global sport, where teams and athletes are increasingly aligning themselves with causes beyond the game. For Multan Sultans, the initiative is more than a fundraising effort — it’s a statement of purpose.

Every big hit and key dismissal will now carry added significance, linking performance on the field with a meaningful cause off it.

As a team that has reached the finals in the last three editions of the league, Multan has a strong chance of delivering many impactful moments.

With aggressive batters like Usman Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed, along with wicket-taking bowlers such as Usama Mir, Mohammad Hasnain, Michael Bracewell, and Chris Jordan, the team’s on-field success could lead to considerable financial aid for those affected by the violence in Palestine.

This isn’t the first time PSL players have voiced support for the Palestinian people, but Multan’s decision to connect in-game achievements with charity sets a new standard. It could inspire similar initiatives from other teams, league organisers, and broadcasters.
