A female student at Malakand University has accused a professor of harassment, leading to his suspension and arrest. Authorities have taken action by registering a case against the accused and detaining him for investigation.
According to Levies sources, officials have seized the professor’s mobile phone for further examination. Meanwhile, the university administration has suspended him and formed an inquiry committee to probe the matter.

The student alleged that the professor had been harassing her for a long time and even visited her home with his wife to propose marriage, which resulted in a heated argument. The accused professor is reportedly from Peshawar, while the student belongs to Malakand.
In a statement, Malakand University clarified that it has taken immediate and strict measures regarding the incident. The university’s anti-harassment committee conducted a meeting where the complainant was given a personal hearing.
The committee is now finalizing its recommendations, which will be forwarded to the syndicate for disciplinary action.
The administration reaffirmed its commitment to an impartial investigation and assured that all evidence will be considered to bring the case to a logical conclusion.
The university has a zero-tolerance policy against harassment and strives to maintain a safe and fair learning environment for all students.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi expressed deep concern over the incident, urging authorities to ensure a transparent inquiry. He condemned such actions, stating that they hinder women’s educational and social progress.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has also taken notice of the case and formed an inquiry committee, which includes Additional Secretary Asif Rahim and AIG Establishment Sonia Shamroz.
