Islamabad High Court upholds death sentence of Zahir Jaffer

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ruled on appeals brought against the convictions of the defendants and the exoneration of the co-accused in the Noor Mukadam murder case, upholding Zahir Jaffer’s death sentence as the primary defendant.

The IHC withheld judgement on appeals in the well-known case in which Jaffer received a death sentence following a protracted trial that lasted more than four months.

On July 20, 2021, the body of the 27-year-old Noor, who had been beheaded, was discovered at the home of the main suspect, Jaffer, in Islamabad’s F-7/4 Sector.
