In the 2025 curriculum for Pakistan Studies for 10th grade, the contributions of prominent women to national development from 1947 to the present have been highlighted.
The updated textbook acknowledges the efforts of 11 notable women alongside Fatima Jinnah, including Maryam Nawaz, Kulsoom Nawaz, Benazir Bhutto, Nusrat Bhutto, Fahmida Mirza, Bilquis Edhi, Arfa Karim, Samina Baig, Shamshad Akhtar, Nigar Johar, and Justice Ayesha Neelum.

The chapter featuring these women appears in Chapter 8 on page 163 of the updated textbook. Maryam Nawaz is recognised as the first female Chief Minister of Punjab, a position she assumed in 2024.
The text mentions her government’s initiatives in health, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and energy sectors. Similarly, Justice Ayesha Neelum is commended for becoming the first female Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court in 2024.
Additionally, Fahmida Mirza’s role as the Speaker of the National Assembly from 2008 to 2013 is also praised.
Private schools will also adopt this revised content, ensuring these notable women are acknowledged for their contributions. The textbook highlights the progress made by women in various fields, marking a significant step toward recognising their role in shaping Pakistan’s development.
