Karachi intermediate board uncovers unusual exam Submissions

The Chairman of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK), Sharaf Ali Shah, has disclosed that some students submitted answer sheets with inappropriate content during recent exams, including songs, stories, and blank papers with only the question paper attached.

According to Express News, Shah revealed that one student enclosed a Rs. 1000 note in their answer sheet with a note saying, “This is all I could manage, please pass me.”

Speaking to the media in Karachi on Wednesday, Shah stated that he had formed a committee to investigate the exam results immediately after assuming office. This committee, comprising subject experts and led by a principal as convener, has been tasked with conducting a comprehensive review.

Shah emphasised, “We will not allow any injustice against the students,” and announced the establishment of a complaints cell to address concerns.

During a meeting with head examiners, it was revealed that some students had submitted answer sheets containing only stories, songs, or even just the question paper.

The release of the 11th-grade exam results by the Karachi Intermediate Board had raised concerns among students, parents, and political parties. In response to these grievances, the Board has decided to reduce the scrutiny fee for students by 50%.
