Punjab Changes Uniform Policy for School Students

The Punjab School Education Department has introduced a temporary change to its uniform policy, permitting students to wear warm clothing of any type or colour during the ongoing cold weather. This adjustment applies to students in both public and private schools.

According to an official notification, students are now allowed to wear jackets, sweaters, coats, caps, socks, and shoes of their choice to stay warm during this winter season. The relaxation in uniform rules has been implemented immediately and will remain in effect until February 28, 2025.

This decision has been made in response to the harsh cold wave currently sweeping through Punjab. Officials from the Education Department highlighted that the step is aimed at protecting students from the impact of extreme weather while ensuring their continued attendance in schools.
