Students Can Now Easily Verify Certificates with QR Codes

The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has introduced a QR code system to simplify the verification of academic documents. This new initiative aims to enhance efficiency and curb the issue of forged certificates.

Under the system, all result cards, roll number slips, and certificates issued by BISE Lahore will feature unique QR codes. These codes can be scanned to instantly verify the authenticity of the documents, offering a quick and reliable solution for educational institutions and employers.

The introduction of QR codes is seen as a significant step to address the growing issue of fake academic credentials. By making the verification process seamless and accessible, the Lahore board hopes to strengthen trust in its issued documents.

Meanwhile, in Karachi, the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has faced criticism over alleged tampering of the 2024 intermediate results. This controversy particularly impacted students in the pre-medical and pre-engineering streams, many of whom reported unusually low marks.

The scandal has led to protests by students demanding fair treatment and re-evaluation of their results. In response, the chairman of BIEK was dismissed, and Sharaf Ali Shah, who heads the Board of Secondary Education Karachi, has been appointed as the acting chairman of BIEK.
