Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has given the green light to a groundbreaking initiative aimed at equipping young lawyers with practical experience and professional guidance.
The Law Graduate Internship Program, expected to launch soon, will provide fresh law graduates across the province with hands-on exposure to legal practice.
This initiative is designed to address the gap between theoretical education and the practical skills required in the legal profession. To qualify, applicants must have completed their law degree between January 1, 2023, and November 30, 2024, and must also have registered with the bar council within this timeframe.

The program will accommodate 1,500 law graduates annually, with 500 internship slots offered at a time. A merit-based lottery system will ensure fairness in the selection process. Special quotas have been set aside to promote inclusivity, with 5% reserved for individuals with disabilities, 25% for women, and 35% for graduates from South Punjab.
Interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs75,000 and will work in the offices of the Advocate General in Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Bahawalpur, depending on their area of residence.
This initiative marks a significant step in developing a diverse and skilled legal workforce, empowering young lawyers to build successful careers in Punjab’s legal landscape.
