On Tuesday, the federal government unveiled its nationwide program for energy conservation. According to Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, all provincial and federal markets will close at 8:30 p.m. Additionally, wedding venues nationwide will close at 10 p.m.
According to Asif, the nation will save Rs 62 billion if these timings are put into practise.
At the media briefing Federal Ministers for Climate Change Sherry Rehman, Federal Minister for Housing and Works Abdul Wasay, and Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb were present.
The minister went on to explain that all federal government agencies have been told by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to cut their energy use by 30% and to avoid utilising unnecessary appliances and lighting.
