On Wednesday, the Punjab government relaxed all regulations preventing establishments around the province from staying open past midnight.
Since June, the ban had been in effect.
On the petition of the traders, Punjab’s chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi lifted the prohibition.
On Sundays as well, business centres, markets, and stores will be open. The chief minister also stated that marketplaces, stores, and companies would stay open past 9 o’clock.
Earlier in June, former CM Punjab Hamza Shehbaz stated that markets across the province would close at 9pm as the government sought to conserve electricity following the country’s power crisis.
