A woman was gang-raped by train staff while she was travelling from Bahauddin Zakariya Express from Multan to Karachi. Three males allegedly raped the victim, according to details. On May 27, the incident occurred.
On the victim’s complaint, a first information report (FIR) was filed at the Railways Police Station under Sections 377 [rape punishment] and 34 [common intent] of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The woman was in an economy class berth when the ticket-checker offered her a place in the train’s air-conditioned cabin, according to the FIR.
According to Pakistan Railways, ticket-checker Zahid led the victim to an air-conditioned cabin of the train, where the manager Aqib was already present, according to a statement. The woman was then sexually abused (gang-raped) by Aqib, Zahid, and another train employee.
According to Pakistan Railways all the accused have been arrested.
