Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi Arrested in Another Case

Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are facing new legal challenges after being arrested in a fresh case filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) related to Toshakhana gifts, as reported by Geo News citing insider sources.

Earlier today, a district and sessions court in Islamabad acquitted the couple in the iddat case, also known as the un-Islamic nikah case, clearing the last hurdle for their release from custody.

Their legal troubles began earlier this year when they were sentenced to seven years in prison and fined Rs500,000 each after a trial court ruled their nikah was fraudulent, prompted by a complaint from Bushra’s ex-husband, Khawar Maneka.

NAB’s new case focuses on allegations of the “illegal possession and sale of ten valuable Toshakhana gifts,” according to an inquiry report. Additional NAB teams have reportedly been dispatched to Rawalpindi jail to oversee the case, led by Assistant Director Naeem Ullah.

Meanwhile, Bushra Bibi’s legal team has submitted a pre-arrest bail plea in a separate court handling the £190 million National Crime Agency (NCA) settlement case, anticipating her possible arrest in connection with the latest NAB reference.
