Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumed its direct service from Beijing to Islamabad on Sunday.
The first flight, PK-854, reportedly took off from the airport in Islamabad at 6:45 am and landed in Beijing at 2:55 pm, according to ARY News. This flight will return to Islamabad in the evening.
Operations between the two capitals were resumed after more than 2.5 years had passed.
In March 2020, China effectively barred all incoming international flights due to worries that travellers from other nations would be to blame for a coronavirus sickness outbreak.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has at last given the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) permission to restart operations since Beijing’s only all-weather strategic partner is Pakistan and the two countries have common interests and work together in a number of fields.
The flight will also make the travel simpler for Chinese labourers working on a number of CPEC-related projects in Pakistan.
