Data-resilience firm Veeam has purchased Securiti AI, a company founded by Pakistani entrepreneur Rehan Jalil, for about $1.7 billion. The acquisition expands Veeam’s product lineup with Securiti’s advanced data-security and AI-governance tools, marking one of the biggest exits ever achieved by a Pakistani founder in Silicon Valley.
Securiti AI builds software that helps businesses locate, protect, and control data across cloud platforms and SaaS applications. Its flagship platform, the Data Command Center, allows companies to manage privacy, compliance, and security for data used in AI systems.

Veeam plans to integrate these capabilities to strengthen its protection of business data as more organizations adopt artificial intelligence.
Under the deal, Rehan Jalil will join Veeam as President of Security and AI once the transaction closes. The agreement includes both cash and stock and should finalize later this year after standard approvals.
Global demand for reliable data governance continues to grow as companies look for tools that keep AI systems compliant and secure. For Pakistan’s tech industry, this deal represents a major milestone, highlighting the influence of Pakistani talent in global technology circles.
Veeam will continue selling Securiti’s products and embed its privacy, governance, and AI-trust features into Veeam’s backup and recovery solutions, helping businesses adopt AI safely while protecting and recovering critical data.
