The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain-wind thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms in upper parts of the country from April 16 to 19 due to a westerly wave expected to enter northwestern regions on April 16.
The weather system is likely to persist over upper areas with intermittent activity during the period. Authorities expect widespread impact across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, along with parts of Punjab and Balochistan.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain-wind thunderstorms with snowfall over mountains are expected in Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar and surrounding districts from April 16 evening to April 19. Light rain and thunderstorms are also likely in southern districts on April 17 and 18.
In Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, rain with isolated heavy falls and snowfall over mountains is expected between April 16 and 19, with increased intensity on April 18 and 19. Several districts in both regions are likely to experience hailstorms and strong winds.
In Punjab and Islamabad, rain-wind thunderstorms with isolated hailstorms are expected from April 16 to 18 in areas including Rawalpindi, Murree, Lahore and Sialkot. Windstorms and thunderstorms are also likely in southern Punjab during the same period.
In Balochistan, rain-wind thunderstorms are forecast in northern districts on April 17 and 18, while dust-raising winds are expected in upper Sindh from April 16 to 18.
The PMD has warned of possible landslides, flash flooding and damage to weak structures due to strong winds and hailstorms. Farmers have been advised to protect crops, while travelers have been urged to remain cautious during the forecast period.
