Nasir Hussain Shah also stated that a major road in Karachi will be named after Iran’s late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.
Speaking about upcoming religious processions, the minister said rallies would not be allowed on Shahrah-e-Faisal in compliance with court orders. He appealed to Shia organizations to hold their traditional processions along their customary routes.
In a separate administrative development, the Sindh government has introduced a four-day workweek for public offices. Under the new arrangement, government departments will operate from Monday to Thursday, while Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be observed as weekly holidays.
Officials said the move is aimed at reducing operational costs and improving efficiency in government offices.
The government has also decided to reduce fuel consumption of official vehicles by 50 percent as part of broader cost-saving measures. According to officials, the step is intended to help manage government spending while ensuring the continuation of essential public services.
