Toyota to Launch Next-Generation Hilux in November

Toyota’s Hilux, long known as a versatile pickup serving as a family car, workhorse, and status symbol, is gearing up for a major update. The next-generation model is expected to be unveiled in November 2025, bringing significant design changes, upgraded technology, and new powertrain options.

Spy shots and leaks suggest a taller, more upright front grille paired with slimmer headlights, possibly including a full-width LED light bar—a first for the Hilux. At the rear, redesigned taillights, squared-off wheel arches, and chunky black cladding give the pickup a more muscular stance.

Under the hood, the Hilux is expected to adopt electric power steering, enabling better fuel efficiency and modern driver-assist systems. Current engines include a 2.8L turbo-diesel with a 48V mild hybrid setup producing around 201 hp. Toyota may also introduce a plug-in hybrid by 2026, a fully electric version later this year, and potentially the 2.4L i-Force Max hybrid from the Tacoma, offering 326 hp and 630 Nm of torque.

Inside, a digital gauge cluster and tablet-style infotainment will replace older dials, bringing the cabin up to date with modern SUVs.

For markets like Pakistan, where the Hilux is already popular, the updated model could strengthen its position against rivals such as the Ford Ranger and Isuzu D-Max. With design, technology, and electrification updates, the next-generation Hilux promises to be a notable step forward for the iconic pickup.
