Bokhari said the government will not allow shopkeepers or millers to use the ongoing floods as an excuse for inflating prices of essential items.
She stressed that the administration is taking “strict measures” to provide relief to households and keep staple foods within reach of the public. The revised rates have been circulated to all relevant departments, shared with the media, and posted for public awareness.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique underlined that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is directly monitoring reforms in the health sector.
Chairing a review meeting of the Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education, he said billions of rupees are being spent each year to provide medicines and disposables free of cost in government hospitals.
Rafique cautioned that negligence or delays in patient care would not be tolerated, directing hospital administrations to improve efficiency and service delivery
