Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SAZEW) has announced plans to roll out its upcoming Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) models, TANK-500 and CANNON, by March 31, 2026, marking another step forward in its New Energy Vehicle (NEV) strategy.
The automaker disclosed the development in its annual report released on Wednesday. It stated that the company had already launched its first Completely Knocked Down (CKD) PHEV, the HAVAL H6 1.5L, on August 16, 2025. “In addition, CKD rollouts of TANK-500 and CANNON PHEVs are planned by March 31, 2026,” the report said.

According to SAZEW, the local auto sector is showing signs of recovery after a difficult period, with demand gradually picking up. This rebound, it said, is creating opportunities for automakers to expand product lines across conventional fuel, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric categories. The company reiterated its commitment to introducing advanced NEVs aligned with government policy.
The report also highlighted expectations of continued growth in the company’s three-wheeler business, while noting that the tractor wheel segment is under pressure due to declining market demand.
Separately, the company announced that its board has decided to discontinue the home appliances business effective September 1, 2025. SAZEW said the decision was taken to sharpen focus on its core automotive operations, adding that all regulatory and contractual requirements have been completed without disruption to employees or customers.
