Ducky Bhai Accused of Promoting Illegal Gambling Apps; Remand Extended

Lahore – August 24, 2025: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has been granted a five-day extension in the physical remand of popular YouTuber Saadur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, in connection with a case involving the alleged promotion of illegal online gambling applications.

The remand extension was approved by Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo during a hearing at a Lahore court on Saturday, following a request by the NCCIA.

According to the investigating officer, the agency required additional time to complete Rehman’s interrogation. The officer informed the court that critical aspects of the investigation remain incomplete and further questioning is necessary.

However, Rehman’s legal counsel challenged the need for extended custody, arguing that the agency already had possession of the suspect’s electronic devices.

“Why does the agency need a further extension in the YouTuber’s remand when they could get a forensic analysis of his laptop and phone conducted instead?” Rehman’s lawyer asked, adding that the NCCIA already had both devices in their possession.

The court has directed that Rehman be produced again on August 28.

Rehman was arrested on August 17 at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport while allegedly attempting to leave the country. He faces charges under the Prevention of Electronic Crime Act, 2016, as well as sections 294-B (offering prize in connection with trade) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The YouTuber is accused of promoting several unregistered online betting and gambling platforms. The FIR alleges that Rehman served as a “country manager” for one such application without proper government authorization and failed to appear for inquiry proceedings when summoned.

Initially, a two-day physical remand was granted on August 17, against a 28-day request, and was subsequently extended by four more days on August 19.

The investigation has also involved Rehman’s wife, Aroob Jatoi, who appeared before the NCCIA on Wednesday after securing pre-arrest bail.

This is not the couple’s first legal encounter. In 2024, they were previously detained for displaying weapons on social media.
