The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Rawalpindi, has initiated the largest compensation payout in its history, releasing Rs. 3.7 billion to 17,500 victims of the multibillion-rupee B4U financial scam.
A ceremony held at NAB headquarters on Thursday was presided over by Chairman NAB Lt-Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed, with senior officials and hundreds of victims in attendance.

The B4U scam, regarded as one of Pakistan’s biggest Ponzi schemes, was run by Saifur Rehman and his associates through shell companies, offering investors up to a seven percent monthly return.
NAB launched an inquiry in February 2021 following complaints from victims and a referral by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), which led to the freezing of 56 bank accounts, properties, and assets connected to the accused.
As part of recoveries totaling Rs7.3 billion, NAB has begun disbursing the first installment of Rs3.7 billion. Around 10,000 victims have received their full claims, while 7,500 others have been paid 40 percent, with the remaining amount expected within six months.
Chairman Nazir Ahmed reaffirmed NAB’s commitment to ensuring complete recovery of public funds and cautioned citizens against investing in fraudulent schemes.
