The National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) has issued a countrywide alert warning of intense monsoon rains and potential flooding from June 29 to July 5, urging citizens to take precautionary measures.
The NEOC advisory forecasts heavy downpours, landslides, and swollen rivers in several regions, especially the northern and upper parts of the country.

Key Areas at Risk:
- Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Potohar Region (Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Balakot, Murree, Galiyat): High risk of landslides and flash floods in hill streams.
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Kohat, Swat, Chitral, D.I. Khan, Bannu, Mardan): Urban flooding expected; water levels in the Kabul and Swat rivers may rise significantly.
- Punjab (Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Kasur): Heavy rains could lead to flooding in low-lying areas.
- Sindh (Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, Dadu, Jamshoro): Torrential rains expected from July 2–5 with risk of urban flooding and thunderstorms.
Potential Hazards:
- Collapsing weak structures, electric poles, and billboards
- Low visibility during storms, increasing accident risk
- Power outages and traffic disruptions due to water accumulation
Precautionary Measures:
- Avoid crossing rivers and streams
- Tourists should stay updated on weather conditions
- Stay away from unstable infrastructure, trees, and power lines
