Faisalabad’s Metro Bus Service, part of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, is making steady progress as officials work to develop a modern and efficient urban transport network for the city.
A delegation from the Punjab Transport Department, led by Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMTA) Managing Director Kunwar Anwar Ali Khan, visited Faisalabad to assess the project’s advancement.

The team met with Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry to discuss key developments.
Senior officials, including PMTA General Manager Operations Usman Shah, Manager Operations Rizwan Aziz, and NESPAK engineers Musa Dar, Sameed Anis, and Ubaidullah, were part of the delegation.
The meeting was also attended by FDA Additional Director General Yasser Ejaz Chatha, Chief Engineer Mehr Ayub, and other senior officials.
During discussions, Director General FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry assured full administrative support, highlighting the feasibility study conducted with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
He noted that multiple routes have been proposed, and consultations with stakeholders are underway to develop a well-integrated transport system.
PMTA Managing Director Kunwar Anwar Ali Khan reviewed the proposed metro routes, emphasizing the need for a technically sound and efficient network. NESPAK engineers are now finalizing a detailed feasibility report, while Punjab’s Secretary of Transport is expected to visit Faisalabad soon to oversee further planning and coordination.
