Punjab Government Launches Laptop Scholarship Program

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has unveiled the Honhar Laptop Scholarship Program, aimed at fostering educational growth through technology.

This program will provide 50,000 laptops and merit scholarships to deserving students throughout Punjab over the next three months.

Key Features

Laptop Distribution

The government plans to distribute state-of-the-art Core i7, 13th-generation laptops. An initial batch of 5,000 laptops will be delivered within the first month, while the rest are expected to be handed out by February 20.

Focus on Inclusion

The program includes 2,000 laptops for minority students and recognises outstanding matric and F.Sc students with laptops and a ceremonial Guard of Honour.

Scholarship Allocations

The initiative will benefit various educational sectors, allocating 20,000 laptops for university students, 14,000 for college students, 2,000 for medical and dental students, and 4,000 for students in industrial and agricultural disciplines. Around 32% of the laptops will go to students from Southern Punjab.

Support for Female Students

Under the Chief Minister’s Merit Scholarship Program, 18,000 female students will receive full tuition coverage for up to five years.

Application Process

Students can apply through their institutions. Selection will prioritise academic excellence and minority representation.This initiative reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to empowering students and advancing education.
