Survey Reveals Pakistanis’ Preferred Modes of Transportation

A recent Gallup Pakistan survey has revealed that rickshaws, buses, and wagons remain the most popular modes of transportation among Pakistanis. The nationwide survey, which gathered responses from over 1,000 participants, provided insights into travel preferences across the country.

The survey showed that 80% of respondents have travelled in rickshaws, highlighting their widespread usage. However, 18% stated they have never used rickshaws, and 2% did not respond to the question.

Similarly, buses and wagons are a significant choice for public transport, with 79% of participants reporting they use these vehicles regularly. In contrast, 17% said they avoid buses and wagons entirely, while 4% chose not to answer.

Train travel appears less common, with 47% of respondents reporting they use trains for transportation, while an equal percentage (47%) stated they never travel by train. The remaining 6% did not provide an answer.

In the northern regions of Pakistan, cable cars and dolly lifts are options for transportation, particularly in mountainous areas. However, only 14% of respondents reported using these methods, while a significant 73% said they have never traveled via cable cars or dolly lifts.

The survey sheds light on the diverse transportation habits of Pakistanis and highlights the continued reliance on traditional public transport options over less conventional modes like cable cars.
