The federal government has decided to suspend internet and mobile services partially in response to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) protest scheduled for November 24 in Islamabad.
The suspension will begin on November 23 in various districts of Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab, according to sources from the Ministry of Interior.
The ministry plans to activate a firewall on mobile internet services starting November 22, resulting in reduced internet speed. Sources also noted that downloading videos or audio files on social media platforms will be restricted.

The suspension of services could be implemented at specific locations depending on the situation.
PTI leader Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, previously announced the protest date, emphasizing that demonstrations would continue until their demands are met.
She called on the nation to decide its future, highlighting freedom as a central goal.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur confirmed that protest preparations are complete and declared that this movement would not stop until their objectives are achieved.
Separately, Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife, has been actively coordinating efforts from the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar. Reports suggest that PTI members have been tasked with mobilizing thousands of workers for the protest.
This development underscores the heightened political tensions as PTI prepares for what they describe as a decisive demonstration.
