In response to recent media claims of a passport fee hike, Pakistan’s Directorate of Passport and Immigration has clarified that no new increases have been introduced.
According to a directorate spokesperson, passport fees were last adjusted on March 7, and the current rates remain unchanged.
The spokesperson dismissed the rumours of a fee revision, describing them as unfounded.
As per the latest official structure, the cost of a standard 36-page passport with a five-year validity is Rs4,500 for regular service, Rs7,500 for urgent processing, and Rs12,500 for fast-track handling.

For the larger 72-page passport, the five-year validity fees are Rs8,200 for normal, Rs13,500 for urgent, and Rs18,500 for fast-track service.
In cases of passport loss, the re-issue fee starts at Rs9,000 for the first replacement, with doubled or tripled charges for subsequent losses.
The directorate advised citizens to ignore any misleading news about a recent fee hike.
They reiterated that the passport fee structure is determined by page count and urgency level, with distinct rates for 36-page, 72-page, and 100-page passports.
Despite reports suggesting otherwise, there have been no alterations in the existing fee structure for e-passports or machine-readable passports, with the directorate confirming that these remain as previously announced.
